From the Letters of Queen Marie and the Duchesse de Luynes to Président Hénault
On this day, Queen Marie writes to Président Hénault (in part):
“I am annoyed, my dear President, that you are still not well. The more you do not take my absinthe, the more your stomach will not be fortified. You only have to take half of a small glass when you sit down at the table. Talk to Vernage about it.”
