Cool, as ever, to read about Frederick (it’s almost superfluous to add the Great…but for the sake of clarity).

In the end, there were 3 Fredericks, so it never hurts to add 'the Great' if you mean Frederick II. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the encouragement. I think either Lorraine or Saxony will be next.

A great history lesson! As a small addition to your excellent explanation of the birth of the kingdom of Prussia, formation of larger states by personal union of smaller entities was more the norm than the exception in Early Modern Europe. It was also the case of the Spanish Monarchy under Habsburg rule, that via personal unions and conquest acquired planetary dimensions.

I love this. I think we have a tendency to look back in history with today's maps, as if the lines drawn and the decisions made, the treaties negotiated, etc., were all foregone conclusions. It sounds like a fantastic series.

Looking forward to the next ones!

Thanks for the encouragement. It could be a long series. There are so many vanished countries.

I have a few original maps of this kingdom - with coevo coloring- very complicated history in the region, cities changed names and borders moved often.
